My research on sleep, nightmares, and mental health has been featured in Scientific American, The Weather Channel, and The Clarion Ledger. I welcome media inquiries on topics including suicide prevention, sleep disorders, and behavioral health.
Areas of Expertise
Directed MSU's Clinical Psychology PhD program for 10 years through multiple APA accreditation cycles. A member of 10+ APA site visit teams and having chaired 8 APA site visits, I am available as an external consultant for programs seeking accreditation or navigating the self-study process.
Founding member and Fellow of the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine and its Past President (2023–2024). My clinical and research work focuses on nightmares, insomnia, and evidence-based treatments such as Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT) and CBT-I.
Over 15 years of research on the sleep–suicide connection. Principal Investigator on multiple SAMHSA-funded suicide prevention grants totaling millions in funding across Mississippi and beyond.
