APA Accreditation & Program Development

I served as Director of Clinical Training for Mississippi State University's APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program for ten years (2014–2024), successfully guiding the program through two full APA accreditation cycles. I have also served as a site visitor for the American Psychological Association since 2017, conducting visits both as a clinical member and site visit chair. I now offer consulting to programs working toward initial accreditation, navigating reaccreditation, or seeking to strengthen their training models.

Suicide Prevention

I have spent more than fifteen years studying the relation between sleep disturbance and suicidal behavior, and have served as Principal Investigator on multiple SAMHSA-funded suicide prevention programs across Mississippi. My work includes gatekeeper training, crisis response systems, campus suicide prevention programs, and community-level intervention campaigns. I also helped develop the Alliance Project, an evidence-based gatekeeper training program designed for university settings.

Behavioral Sleep Medicine

As a founding member and Past President of the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine, and a Fellow of the society, I am one of a small number of clinical psychologists in the country with extensive expertise in behavioral interventions for sleep disorders. I conduct training, consultation, and presentations for healthcare organizations, sleep clinics, and professional associations on evidence-based treatments for nightmares, insomnia, and related conditions.
